Instructions

  1. Prep the Corn: Remove any dirty or torn outer leaves, but leave the rest of the husk and all the silks intact.
  2. Microwave: Place the corn directly on the microwave turntable or on a microwave-safe plate.
    • 1 Ear: 3 to 4 minutes
    • 2 Ears: 5 to 6 minutes
    • 3 or 4 Ears: 8 to 10 minutes
  3. Rest and Cool: Let the corn rest for 2 to 5 minutes until it is cool enough to handle safely.
  4. Shuck Mess-Free: Wrap your hand in a clean dish towel or oven mitt for protection.
  5. Cut off the stalk/bottom end of the ear, slicing about an inch up (just above the bottom row of kernels).
  6. Grasp the top (pointed) end and gently squeeze or shake the corn downward so it slides right out of the husk, leaving the stubborn silks behind.
