Cream butter and sugars until light and not grainy.
Whisk salt, vanilla and egg together.
Mix in melted baking chocolate ( and cocoa if using ).
Add egg mixture - mix completely
Add flour
Mix in chips
Form into 12 balls and freeze.
Bake frozen at 325 for 16-25 minutes.
Baking time depends on oven being fully preheated ( i.e. at 325 for 15 minutes before baking ) and dough going directly from freezer to oven.
Divide dough into 20 pieces for smaller cookies ( use shorter baking time ).
Optional 3/4 c macadamia pieces
