Preheat oven to 375
Butter or spray 8x8 in. baking dish

Topping:
In mixing bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, salt*, baking powder,cinnamon, nutmeg and pie seasoning for 30 seconds.
Add diced butter and rub until it comes together in small crumbles - transfer to refrigerator to chill.

Filling:
In mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and flour.
Add water, lemon juice and vanilla.
Stir in brown sugar cinnamon, nutmeg and salt*.
Place apples in large bowl, pour mixture over and toss.

Spread evenly in prepared dish.
Sprinkle topping over, evenly cover apples.
Bake 35 minutes or to golden brown.
Rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

* Reduce salt if using salted butter - omit salt in filling and reduce to 1/8 tsp in topping.

Slice apples thinly.
