Combine milk, yolks, cornstarch and salt in blender and mix well
Pour into 8 cup glass bowl. Microwave on high 6 minutes, whisking half way thru.
Whisk in butter and vanilla - cover and refrigerate until cool.
Cover bottom of trifle bowl with ladyfingers, brush with rum. Layer half of fruit over.. Cover with half of custard, Repeat.
Whip cream to soft peaks, add sugar and vanilla. Beat until stiff.
Spoon cream over top. Garnish with strawberry and mint sprig.
Chill until ready to serve.
