Place sugar/cornstarch/salt/cocoa/milk in blender. Blend till smooth.
Melt butter in sauce pan and add slurry.
Place over medium low heat and stir until thick ( should just start to bubble ).
Whisk in vanilla and pour into custard cups.
If not using immediately, put plastic wrap on surface to prevent skin from forming.
Original recipe used one packet of ChocoBake ( pre-melted chocolate ) in place of cocoa/butter. Straight conversion would use 3 Tbs cocoa.
Used 2 Tbs Nestle cocoa with 3 Tbs Penzey Dutch chocolate.
Replace 1/2 cup milk with cream for richer pudding.
Heating without stirring will cause pudding to burn on bottom before top is thickened.
